Stormwater Management

Industrial Pretreatment Services
There are often times when industries cannot meet state or federal stormwater discharge standards due to pollutants from their facility mixing in with storm water runoff. OMNI assists these companies with their stormwater management by designing pretreatment systems to remove pollutants prior to discharge.
National Pollutant Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES) Permit
Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations found in Chapter 40, Code of Federal Regulations (CFR), Part 122.26 require that certain activities, defined by the regulations as "industrial activities", must apply for and obtain a stormwater permit under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System for the discharge of stormwater runoff. OMNI assists industrial companies in the application of the NPDES permit for their facilities.
Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
EPA regulations found in Chapter 40, Code of Federal Regulations, Part 112, Oil Pollution Prevention apply to facilities that have discharged, or due to their location, could reasonably be expected to discharge oil in harmful quantities. The regulations require that a SPCC Plan be prepared and certified for such facilities by a Registered Professional Engineer to reduce hazards associated with the storage and distribution of oil. OMNI can assist facilities in preparing SPCC Plans and provide the certification of a Professional Engineer.
Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP)
Facilities with NPDES stormwater permits are required by regulations to have a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) that identifies potential sources of pollution and describes methods by which a facility can reduce the amount of pollutants carried in stormwater and maintain compliance with permit conditions. The plan must be developed and implemented within 12 months of issuance of the NPDES permit. OMNI can work with facility personnel to develop an SWPPP for facilities with NPDES permits. |
